"Canonizing a Liberal Saint - The tale of an an aborted doctor" - A piece by Octavian
On May 31th 2009 in WICHITA, Kan. – Dr. George Tiller, one of the nation's few providers of late-term abortions was shot and killed Sunday.
Abortion – A topic even some atheists crusade over. We assume that our readership is educated so this article is not about reviewing long argued opinions. This piece is presented to you today as a reflection of this event from my perspective and as a counter attack to bias in the media.
Thus far, the media reports I have reviewed concerning this particular event have focused heavily on its tragic qualities. As expected, the temptation to politicize a tragic event is never missed by liberal spin masters. Some in the media have decided to use this event as an opportunity to support Obama's political platform. Before continuing, let me offer proof of this:
-President Barack Obama said he was "shocked and outraged" by the murder. "However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence," he said.
In follow up to this, some writers have taken the time to praise the courageous folks providing reproductive “health care services” for women. Others have blatantly tried to blur the line between reserved pro-life protesters and those who have decided to hasten the death of abortion service providers. Interestingly, the doctor killed today was often portrayed as an almost saint-like church member. Rather than being used to express condolence to the victim’s family, these images are linked in such a way as to suggest “Extremist anti-abortionist even kills other Christians. Foul hypocrite!”
Given that at the time of this writing the only suspect has not been formally charged, how is it that the media can actually profess to know the suspect’s guilt or rationale? Hell, the media even released the suspects name without police approval. If he is innocent I hope he sues for slander; who knows, maybe the real killer will get away and target the media next? Fortscribe cannot allow another irresponsible liberal emotional tirade to silence rational thought. Since they already politicized this issue, we are launching an immediate counter-strike.
Pro-abortion crowd, I realize that rallying over a fallen abortion martyr may make you feel untouchable and self-righteous. Too bad your logic remains faulty no matter how many foot soldiers are sacrificed for your cause. Did you think Obama sounded presidential? Do you think maybe his comments will help the nation reach some middle ground on abortion? Nah! Moronic statements that should not have been offered in the first place are seen for what they are. Worthless! Perhaps if Obama actually contemplated opposing viewpoints he would see how tripe and contradictory his statement is.

The definition of violence is: "exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse." Abortion is the use of physical force to injure a fetus and end a pregnancy. If our resolution to this difficult issue is to support abortion, then obviously that solution involves violence. Liberal spin masters would love to paint opinions like mine as those of an ardent Christian radical. True some of my beliefs are influenced quite strongly by Christian tradition. However, people with my perspective often struggle with topics like abortion. To me, the termination of human life is more than just violating a commandment. Whenever we kill there is the un-escapable fact that we have closed our minds to alternative solutions that would still allow us to follow God’s command. Unfortunately people like me sometimes struggle with the notion that theoretically there might be unique circumstances in which it appears necessary that one life must end to preserve another life. Frankly, I do not feel like trying to imagine a set of circumstances to test the Commandments. One should not premeditate and set their mind at ease with violating the laws of God. Personally, I hope God will give us all mercy for being as foolish as we are.
That said, as contradictory and unholy as it is, I really appreciate the work of those who defend us through force of arms. For me it is satisfying to know Saddam will no longer torture the citizens of Iraq; that some families find peace when murderers are sentenced to death; when a rapist thug breaks in only to meet a .45. Seems like some situations reach an acceptable outcome with violence? Thus, how about abortion? Could there be unique circumstances in which a mother should have a right to take the life of her unborn child? Personally, I don’t have the answer to that. Something tells me that I don’t need to have one for this though. God gave mankind free will. He did not make it impossible for Cain to take the life of his brother. For this reason, I suppose I have to opt out and say that the decision of a woman to take the life of her child is something between her and God. Whether she does it through suctioning or punching herself in the stomach, if she has the will to do so then she can probably find the means. May God have mercy as I am not the one who will judge. Perhaps in this sense I am really pro-choice; pro using the free will to think for ourselves that God gave us. In my humble opinion, limited prison space is better filled with drug dealers and rapists than women foolish enough to have an abortion.
However, nothing about my position means that I need to support enabling the radical policies of pro-Abortion advocates. How is letting a 14 year old get an abortion without telling her parents beneficial to women? Why should we pay for reckless nymphomaniacs to abort every inconvenient baby? Prove to me that killing unborn children will significantly eliminate the power disparity between women and men. If a mother waits until a baby is old enough to exist outside the mother, isn’t Obama a sick man for wanting to end its existence? Why spend one cent of tax payer income on these kinds of programs? If abortion doctors are really as courageous and altruistic as the pro-abortion crowd would have us believe, then surely the abortion quacks can do it for free? Liberals expect doctors who actually save more lives than they kill to take a pay cut with socialized medicine, perhaps abortion docs should have to have more “skin in the game.”
Seriously though, what is it about abortion that you liberals are willing to die for? Hard to believe that you really care about freedom of choice, especially given that liberals mostly engineer bureaucracies and response algorithms that impede the ability for rational decision making (choices). Come to think of it, if examined closely the abortion rights movement is also about social engineering. Abortion fanatics don’t really seem to focus on elements that are actually representative of choice. Review the work of early American abortion rights advocate Margaret Sanger. Outside of her role as a socialist inspiration to great "visionaries" like Hitler, she laid the groundwork to much of the philosophy pushing the abortion rights movement. Her objectives were pretty sick, social engineering through eugenics. She actually believed that blacks were inferior and needed to be aborted.
These days abortion rights motives are masked under more politically accepted titles, but when pressed the same kinds of misbegotten socialist rhetoric appear in liberal philosophy. When an environmentalist supports abortion to reduce mankind’s carbon footprint I feel like stapling a copy of our “global warming” article to their forehead and suctioning out their unused head compartment of the cobwebs they call neural networks.
Abortion is a touchy subject. Our nation is built upon differing beliefs and sometimes we must tolerate the intolerable because God intended for us to use our free will to find a way to exist peacefully. With this said, there is no middle ground to be reached with liberal trash on the issue of abortion. Either kill an unborn human life or don’t kill a human life. Liberals constantly pretend that they are smart enough to offer a magic bullet answer through policy. Reality cannot be unwoven. They are just trying to warm you up into accepting the wholesale slaughter of the unborn. We may not penalize the women who have an abortion but that doesn't mean we have to help them do it. May the misuse of this emotional tragedy backfire for the Left.
